M. M. AL-Qahatani Polyurethane Factory (QPF) is the only factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is a manufacturer of polyurethane chemicals and applicator of Sprayed Polyurethane Foam System, licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We have strong background and expertise in the field of polyurethane spray foam system. Our installation teams provide quick application, courteous service whilst always maintaining excellent quality standards. We provide 10 years warranty and after sales service.
Polyurethane and related materials, what are they?
Commercial polyurethane are complex plastic products usually formed by the reactions of liquid isocyanate components with liquid polyol resin components. In the preparation of polyurethane foams, the components may also contain cell-stabilizers, blowing agents, flammability retarding agents and catalysts. The finished product is simply called polyurethane, urethane or sometimes isocyanate plastics.
History and types of polyurethane
The first commercial polyurethane plastics appeared in the early 1950's. Growth of the industry was slow at first, but gradually gained momentum as the advantages offered by the new plastic material become more evident.
Polyurethane generally falls into the following different categories.
• Rigid polyurethane : Furniture, decorations and doors
• Semi rigid : Insulation for roofs, walls and pipes
• Soft foam : Furniture, mattresses
• Elastomer : Technical sophisticated application, and coating
URETHANE ROOFING SYSTEM
Our Polyurethane Roofing system provides complete solution in providing Thermal Insulation, Waterproofing and Strengthening roofing structures.
PRODUCTS
Polyurethane Roofing system consists application of two individual products:
URETHANE ROOFING SYSTEM GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Polyurethane Foam is made by two components (Polyol and Isocyanate) sprayed in situ provides the thermal insulation and waterproofing.
THE ELASTOMERIC RUBBER COATING PROVIDES
• A flexible coating
• Ultra violet protection
• Additional waterproofing
• Pounded water resistance
INSULATION REQUIREMENTS OF BUILDING
Most buildings in the Kingdom can be classified as low-rise flat roof, with large roof areas constantly exposed to the sun.
Insulating these roofs with 30mm Sprayed Polyurethane Foam will prevent 80% of the total heat absorption of the building, and reduce the complexity and cost of HVAC system. Hence occupants can enjoy maximum comfort with low noise level and reduced air movement. Polyurethane spray foam has closed cell structure which minimizes water absorption and prevents permeation by capillary action.
Polyurethane has the lowest thermal conductivity of any commercial insulation material as shown below:
PRODUCT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY (k-value)
Sprayed Polyurethane Foam 0.020 W/m² K
Expanded Polystyrene 0.033 W/m² K
Glass Fiber 0.034 W/m² K
Cellular Glass 0.042 W/m² K
Perlite 0.050 W/m² K
Foam Concrete 0.055 W/m² K
With the lowest k-factor and the highest R-value PU foam can provide more thermal resistance with less material than any other insulation. |
DURABILITY OF THE PROTECTIVE COATING

DURABILITY OF THE PROTECTIVE COATING
• Resistance to accelerated weathering • Resistance to wind driven rain
• Elongation properties • Hailstone resistance
• High temperature stability • Excellent bond strength to foam
• Pounded water resistance
• Elastic and resistance properties not affected by weathering

Effects of Liquids and Chemicals
Water, Saline Water, Hydrocarbons, Acids and other chemicals have no effect on
the Polyurethane Foam.
Behaviour under biological influence
• Mammals, birds, insects
The foam is not attacked or destroyed by rodent or insects and it not
destroyed by the beaks of birds.
• Mosses lichens, mould, fungi, bacteria have no effect on the foam and coating.
